Emotional Health
Just because we are highly sensitive (HSP) with our own unique set of challenges, does not mean we can’t be emotionally healthy and become unstoppable as a HSP.
To be emotionally healthy means we have the ability to understand, express, and manage our emotions in a positive and constructive way.
Financial Health
Being financially healthy does not mean one has to be a millionaire. Far from it. To be financially healthy, one is establishing a foundation for a more balanced and fulfilling life as well as addressing the other aspects for a person who chooses to live a wholesome lifestyle.
Financial instability is one of the biggest stressors for anyone to deal with. It can cause anxiety and or even depression. Being in a constant state of anxiety and depression not only affects our mental health but can ultimately affect our physical health and emotional health.
Physical Health
As a highly sensitive person, we can be so attuned to all that goes on around us, and attuned to our physical bodies. I speak for myself here, but I feel everything that is going on in my physical body. I know when something just isn’t right and I have to do something about it because I am just so uncomfortable. So I jump on the treadmill. I get extremely irritable if I don’t exercise. When I exercise, that irritability goes away and I am no longer uncomfortable. That’s how sensitive I am to my body and how dependent I am on exercise.
To maintain good physical health, highly sensitive people should incorporate steps that allow us to thrive and function at optimal levels so we know our body is well cared for.
Social Health
As I have stated before, being highly sensitive comes with its own unique challenges. However it is important to remember being highly sensitive is not a disorder that needs to be fixed.
But because our awareness is so very acute of what is going on all around us, we must do all we can to ensure we stay grounded in ourselves so that we can establish healthy relationships. When we stay grounded, we are in a position to develop positive, meaningful and fulfilling social connections which in turn result in relationships that are conducive to our unique traits and sensitivities.
Spiritual Health
If we as a highly sensitive person are really true to ourselves, we acknowledge we have a deep inner life. We treasure our connection to a deeper meaning in life. Creating anything whether it is art, a great meal, a piece of needlework etc. or going deep into meditation, allows us to tap into our innermost core so that we feel a great sense of accomplishment.
